This project involved the design and construction of a series of terraced outdoor spaces located over an existing sloped asphalt drive. The goal of the project was to soften the existing asphalt landscape and create a series of warm, functional spaces that would be inviting as well as low maintenance. The main feature of the project was a raised deck in the rear corner of the site made out of mahogany wood, containing a trellis element at its rear (for an existing grape vine to cover) and an extruded bench/storage element at its front. To further soften and cover the existing asphalt drive, a series of cascading mahogany terraces, in-filled with pea gravel, where introduced as the drive continued downward to the street.
