Located in an urban neighborhood in the Allston/Brighton section of Boston this project consisted of the redesign of the front yard entryway of a residential building. The main design element of the project was a new contemporary wood and aluminum fence located along the front perimeter of the property which transformed into a bench and planter as it approached the building entrance. Above the entrance was a new cantilevered wood and metal canopy designed in the same language as the bench. To limit maintenance in the front yard native plantings consisting of groundcovers and shrubs, with different seasonal colors where selected. The planting layout was designed to make a gesture embracing the front entrance path.
